Take a Leap of Faith
Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek His will in all you do,
and He will show you which path to take.
Proverbs 3: 5-6, NLT
Have you ever found yourself on your face before God? Have you tried to get an answer out of Him but found only silence? I remember a time when I was kneeling on my bedroom floor in New York City. I had moved there from Indiana a few months after graduating college with hardly any money, no job lined up, and faith that God was going to open doors.
However, God wasn’t opening doors. Opportunity after opportunity fell through and I was beginning to run out of time and money. After about four months, I decided it was time to leave and I felt that God was calling me to Denver, Colorado. I found that I wasn’t discouraged from my time in New York. Even though the move there didn’t result in a job or stable income, it led me to a place of faith I didn’t know I could go. I faced my fears of moving to a new place, living away from my family, and supporting myself with very little income. I learned that I could trust God and He was going to guide me every step of the way.
One step of faith has to lead to another step of faith. God wasn’t asking me to just pick up and move to a new city so that everything would fall into place. God was asking me to trust and have faith in Him and His plan. The location wasn’t important. It was about my heart and growing into the woman of faith I wanted to be.
Is God asking you to take a leap of faith and trust in Him in all the decision-making?
